This leadership began on\u00a0<strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-sfc-root=\"c\" data-sfc-cb=\"\" data-complete=\"true\">December 16th, 1964<\/strong>, with the launch of the\u00a0<strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-sfc-root=\"c\" data-sfc-cb=\"\" data-complete=\"true\">San Marco 1<\/strong> satellite.
