Nel loro primo incontro di oggi l\u2019Ambasciatore d\u2019Italia al Cairo, Giampaolo Cantini, e la Ministro della Cooperazione Internazionale e degli Investimenti, Dr.ssa Sahar Nasr, hanno discusso dei principali argomenti di interesse comune nel settore cooperazione allo sviluppo e investimenti. Come sempre accaduto finora in tutti gli incontri con le Autorita\u2019 egiziane, l\u2019Ambasciatore Cantini ha anzitutto sottolineato l\u2019aspettativa italiana che il ristabilimento delle relazioni diplomatiche a livello di Ambasciatori favorisca sviluppi costanti e progressivi nella collaborazione giudiziaria in corso per fare piena luce sulla barbara uccisione di Giulio Regeni.<\/p>\n
In particolare, l\u2019Ambasciatore Cantini e la Ministra Nasr hanno convenuto sull\u2019ottimo andamento della collaborazione nel settore dell\u2019aiuto allo sviluppo e discusso di come poterlo migliorare ulteriormente, a partire da un progetto italiano nel campo dello \u201cschool feeding\u201d a favore degli studenti piu\u2019 svantaggiati per un valore di circa 2 milioni di Euro. L\u2019incontro ha fornito inoltre l\u2019occasione per proporre da parte italiana nuove iniziative nel settore della societa\u2019 civile, a riguardo della quale e\u2019 stato affrontato l\u2019argomento delle modalita\u2019 di applicazione della nuova Legge in materia di ONG. L\u2019impegno dell\u2019Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS) nei confronti dell\u2019Egitto per il 2018 ammonta a 35 milioni di Euro, di cui 20 a credito d\u2019aiuto e 15 a dono, con uno sforzo tra i piu\u2019 importanti a livello globale. Oltre a proseguire nelle attivita\u2019 degli ultimi anni sullo sviluppo del settore privato, incluse le PMI, e del settore agricolo, tale sforzo si concretizzera\u2019 in nuove iniziative a sostegno dei disabili, dei giovani in chiave di lotta all\u2019immigrazione illegale, dell\u2019agroindustria e delle sfide demografiche che l\u2019Egitto deve affrontare.<\/p>\n
Sul fronte degli investimenti, l\u2019Ambasciatore Cantini ha fatto cenno alla nuova Legge egiziana in materia, con particolare attenzione ai suoi regolamenti attuativi, e al contributo che le imprese italiane possono dare in questo ambito. Today, in their first meeting, Ambassador of Italy in Cairo, Giampaolo Cantini, and the Minister for International Cooperation and Investments, Dr. Sahar Nasr, discussed the main aspects of common interest in the field of development cooperation and investments. In line with all his previous meetings with Egyptian Authorities, Ambassador Cantini firstly underlined the Italian expectation that the resumption of diplomatic relations at Ambassadorial level will favour constant and progressive developments in the ongoing judicial cooperation for shedding light over the brutal killing of Giulio Regeni.<\/p>\n
In particular, Ambassador Cantini and Minister Nasr convened about the very good level of bilateral cooperation in the field of aid and discussed how to develop it even further. In this sense, they examined the Italian support for a \u201cschool feeding\u201d project worth 2 million Euros. The meeting gave also the chance to propose new initiatives in favour of civil society. In this framework, a special focus was dedicated to the by-laws of the new Egyptian NGO Law. In 2018, the Italian effort towards Egypt will amount to 35 million Euros, whose 20 million on soft loan and 15 million on grants. For the Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS), it is one of the major contributions on a global scale. These initiatives are aimed at maintaining the Italian support for the Egyptian private and agricultural sectors, SMEs included, already provided in the last few years. At the same time, new areas will be involved, such as agroindustry and demography, and new recipients will be benefited, namely disabled persons and young generations in the framework of anti-illegal immigration.<\/p>\n
In the field of investments, the meeting between Ambassador Cantini and Minister Nasr was dedicated to the new Investment Law – specifically the final regulations to put it into force – and the contribution that Italian companies can give.
