The international summit “Advancing Data-Driven Regional Cooperation at the Climate–Health–Human Mobility Nexus in North Africa,” organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), took place in Cairo on September 21–22, 2026. The meeting brought together Italian experts and high-level government representatives from a region of strategic importance for regional security and stability: Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Sudan, Djibouti, and Ethiopia. At the heart of the discussions was an in-depth examination of the complex link between climate change, migration flows, and the impact on the health of populations—a theme that served as the guiding focus of the initiative.
